I did a quick little project for the ESO guild I belong to. The name of the guild is obviously GRIN. Still getting used to doing digital art as opposed to pencil which is my preferred medium.

I tried two things I have never been very good at today: Figure drawing and color. When I was still in art school I had to take both life drawing and color theory three times apiece and still couldn’t pass. I ended up dropping out before my third time with each class was up. Today I decided to challenge myself and do both. The result is this little Kobold. It took me most of the afternoon and evening, but I’m pretty pleased with the result.

Hopefully, with more practice, I can get batter at drawing human (or semi-humanoid) figures as well as using color to indicate shading, ect. But for now, here he is, in all his glory. I shall call him Scrimshank.

Mac is a character I’ve been drawing since my senior year in high school. He is the essence of me. A lazy, slightly misanthropic ball of sass. I used to write and draw comics about him all the time but in recent years he’s become more of a mascot or calling card. This little portrait of him is just a little practice.

More of me playing with the new Wacom. Made my first (albeit quite crappy) comic in the center of the sketch page. I’m just trying to fill a page a day of doodles and sketches. Some of the stuff is really small or light as I was playing with the sensitivity and resolution that the tablet can give me.

Me playing with my new Wacom Tablet. I got the Intuos Creative Pen and Touch Medium. So far I really like it. As you can see I haven’t gotten my sea-legs back yet and I am in terrible need of some practice. In fact, after only an hour or so of doodling my hand started to cramp. I’ll be posting more sketch pages as time goes on. Eventually my goal is a comic a week after the new year.
